It's Like a Reward...
We're launching a subscription referral plan with rewards, baby! This is actually fun so please read the email if you care about us at all or even if you don't (which is okay).
If Succession’s Tom Wambsgans could wiggle his way into the CEO role, Ms. Gilmore Girl Lorelai could run an entire inn in the famously expensive state of Connecticut, and Dan Humphrey could manage the Gossip Girl blog while getting published in The New Yorker (???), the two of us can certainly run a business.
To be clear, this is a business we do not get paid for. Our favorite kind!
But if you like what you’ve been reading, we’d love it if you’d consider telling that to your pop culture-obsessed friends who are suffering right now because they don’t know about this newsletter. You know what they say, friends don’t let friends not read Yes, We're Still Watching.
Here’s how:
1. Share Yes, We're Still Watching. When you use the referral link below, or the “Share” button on any post, you'll get credit for any new subscribers. Just send the link in a text, email, or share it on social media with friends (don’t be afraid, people actually love when you spam them with links to our newsletter and we know that from experience).
2. Earn rewards!!! When friends use your referral link to subscribe, you’ll receive special benefits.
3 referrals: A shoutout to a TV show… from you! We’ll include a recommendation from YOU in the next issue. You’ll just let us know what show you’re recommending and why, as well as your name and any links to your social media/newsletter/podcast etc. you want included.
5 referrals: Personalized recommendations plus our guess for what your favorite show is. You’ll give us three random facts about yourself (ex. I was a 1950s housewife before I became a stand-up comic… just kidding it can literally just be like “I don’t like Doritos”) and we’ll 1) try to guess your all-time favorite TV show and 2) send you three TV show recommendations.
10 referrals: A FULL essay dedicated to a tv show of your choice. You’ll let us know a TV show you loved/hated/miss or a character you’re still thinking about and we’ll write a newsletter issue about it! (Even if we haven’t seen it, we’ll watch because that’s famously what we love to do! Is this possibly a dangerous time commitment for us? Absolutely. But anything for you!)
We don’t want to get sentimental on main but thank you SO much for reading — it actually means the world to us.
